Still not any good at this am I?
Having a full time job is playing havoc with my homelife - I just don't have enough time to do anything LOL! But I've had several people moan about my lack of updating the blog in the last couple of days, so for you....you know who you are, here you go.
Life is busy (as usual) but I am in quite a happy place at the moment.
1. Work has already started on www.scrappersparadise.co.uk for October - first class is already finalised! I am really wanting to get things sorted out and organised early for this event so that I'm not running round like a nutter again and the ball has been started rolling so I might just get my wish!
2.
Today I have been at Crafts U Love teaching another class. Despite the fact that we ended up with double the amount of people that we were expecting, it still went really well. There was a great atmosphere and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We were altering chipboard letters and scrolls and this afternoon I was demonstrating some of the other things that you could do with chipboard too! Think paint, ink, Stickles glitter glue, patterned papers, Glossy Accents and chalk!
I'm back there on the 21st July which is their 1st birthday of having the shop open and then again on August 11th for another scrapbooking class. If you want further info, then contact www.craftsulove.co.uk for more details. The birthday bash on the 21st July looks set for fun!
3. Work is going really well. I do love the 9-5 structured day and having learnt my day to day role inside out now, I am getting my teeth stuck into other things that as everyone is so busy soliciting(!) they don't have any time to look at the other aspects of running their business and I'm getting a lot more involved in that side of things as up until a couple of years ago, Damon and I had our own business. So cashflow forecasts, profit and loss accounts and all that sort of thing are all too familiar to me! I can't believe that I have now been there three months - it's madness.
Damon finally got offered the BMW job and I am pleased to report that he has just finished his third week there and he is loving it. Cars are one of his two passions (drums being the other one) so he is very happy in his environment.
We managed to get through the school holidays okay. I think the boys had more fun spending each day with somebody different than if I had of been at home. We've got the summer holidays to cope with next which will be an experience. Damon and I have decided to take two weeks off each but only share one of them. It means that I'll take the first week of the holidays off, then they will have a random week, then a week off with Damon, then a random week, then a week off with both of us off and then another random week and then finally back to school.
It's going to be fun trying to work it all out, but the random weeks include spending time with their Aunty, their Nanny and other school friends (which include my boss!) and they really enjoyed half term. As much as it is going to kill me to do it, that's life at the moment!
4. It's my birthday on Tuesday (Happy Birthday to me!) and I think we are due to go out for a slap up meal - that's my idea of a great birthday! It's Ethan's birthday at the end of the month. Can't believe that he is going to be 8 - was it really that long ago - I still remember it like it was yesterday! He is so desperate for a Nintendo DS Lite (hand held game for those like my dad who don't know what one of those is! Hi Dad!) but we have to buy him a bike. I've asked everyone else to club together though, so he will get the DS Lite too - he will be so thrilled!
5. Craft Life and Home still isn't quite finished (www.freecraftmag.com) but it's a good way through - you will not be disappointed when you get to see it in July!
6. Scrapaganza was fun (www.scrap-a-ganza.com). Mandy Anderson and I took 10 hours to actually get to the hotel in Holland but she was great company and we really did have a giggle. I laughed more than I have done in ages having met two girls from Making Memories in the States and we had a ball even though we were working!
7. The photography business is still on the back burner for the moment. Do you know, I am really starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel to have a bit of "ME" time. Working full time, keeping a house, being a mum, trying to get a magazine out the door, teaching abroad and in the UK, I strangely don't have too much spare time. But .....once the mag is finished, I really do see some time available to do what I need to do.
I recently got some Memory Dock things. How much do I love this?
I've got a green one and I love it! It solves all my organisational nightmares and scrapbooking in one!
I've also got some of these too.....
I am determined over this summer to sort out all of my photos (as per my Big Picture Scrapbooking Library of Memories class from last year) and also finally get all of my layouts into albums too (based on the theory of the same Library of Memories class).
Talking of yummy stuff. Some of the US trade show CHA - Summer show releases are starting to filter through. How do you like the look of some of these?
I have managed to fall behind (only slightly though) on my Heidi Swapp A Year To Remember class but will catch up as soon as the mag is out of the way.
Do you see a pattern forming here? When I get time........?
I am not taking on any more commissions (Scrapbooking mags / books or photography) until I have Craft Life and Home out of the way and I've had my desired ME time. I know I'll bore myself after a month so that will be plenty of time to play and then start to commit myself to other things again, but firstly I want to re-gain my hobby that is scrapbooking just for me and my family!
Okay, I really think that is enough for now. I do always think of you but it scares me when I think how long my blog will take to update. And if I want to add photos, well then, whoa - even longer.
Have fun this weekend though.
